Chapter 3 - Progress update #7

With this week's completion, Chapter 3 is officially larger than Chapter 1. In terms of the number of renders, it should be about halfway there now. However, the exact number is difficult to predict, particularly because of the intimate scenes. I don't write these scenes in advance, but rather start posing and see where I end up once I'm happy with the setup.

Out of boredom, I once checked, and the game now has just over 7,000 static renders and 90,000 words in total. I'd say that's pretty respectable since it started in September 2024. And all of this was done in 2k (4k since Chapter 3) with a little over 4,000 animation renders. I don't know yet how many Chapter 3 will add to that, but I'd guess it could double it.

I also have added a new metric to the progress overview: "Scenes." Simply put, it shows how much variety and movement is taking place within a label. A high render-to-scenes ratio indicates low variety/movement; a low ratio indicates high variety/movement. Out of curiosity, and because it seems to me that I have become slower even though my program operation is faster than before, I determined the render ratios of all chapters. They are as follows:

Prologue: 1.88 renders per scene

Chapter 1: 2.18 renders per scene

Chapter 2: 1.96 renders per scene

Chapter 3 (so far): 1.64 renders per scene.

This confirms my feeling that I am producing fewer renders than before in the same amount of time spent working. There is significantly more variety and movement in the scenes in this chapter, which is a trend in the overall development of the game, with the exception of the prologue. This is positive for me because it aligns with my goal of making the gameplay and interactions feel as natural as possible.

I ran low on facial expressions, which are the most important thing for me in the whole game, as well as standing and walking poses. I used all the money I made with the release of Chapter 2 to buy new ones and some other fancy stuff. I also think it will only take one more month before I can enable yearly subscriptions if the monthly income stays above 200 euros/dollars.

That's it for this time. Until next week.
