Gameplay Changes

Disclaimer

• I have changed the folder name of the storage location of the temp saves (old: Testproject-1725180379, new: the_missing_part_jpkvns). If you don't use the saves from the game folder but those from the temp folder then you have to manually move them from the old to the new location.
  • This is an optional step for PC users and is only necessary if you don't use the save files in the game save folder. In other words, when you delete the game after playing.
  • For Mac users, this is a mandatory step to be able to use your old saves.
• If you have played the tier 3 or tier 2 version of chapter 2 from before March 06, 2025 and have not updated and played the game since then, please remember this bugfix: https://www.patreon.com/posts/chapter-2-bugfix-123764137 Briefly summarized: Go before the intimate scene at the end of chapter 2 and click yes or no again

How to port saves from TMP ch2 to CH3 on PC:

• download the Ch3 version, unzip and put the The_Missing_Part folder wherever you wish.
•  launch the game and quit the game once you get to the menu.
• open the windows explorer and go to the old temp save location (CHANGE YOURUSERNAME TO 'YOUR' USERNAME) C:/Users/yourusername/AppData/Roaming/RenPy/Testproject-1725180379
• copy the contents from this folder.
• go to the new temp save location (CHANGE YOURUSERNAME TO 'YOUR' USERNAME) C:/Users/yourusername/AppData/Roaming/RenPy/the_missing_part_jpkvns
• paste the contents into this folder.
• launch the game and enjoy your imported saves.

How to port saves from TMP Ch2 to Ch3 on Mac: 

• download the Ch3 version, unzip and put the The_Missing_Part app wherever you wish.
•  double click on ‘The_Missing_Part’ app to launch the game and quit the game once you get to the menu.
• in Finder, open the ‘Go’ menu from the menu bar by clicking on it
• hold the ‘option’ key. Click on ‘Library’ when it appears on the menu.
• scroll down to the ‘RenPy’ folder.
• find the folder ‘Testproject-1725180379’ within the ‘RenPy’ folder. These are your old saves.
• the contents of ‘Testproject-1725180379’ include files named with .save extension such as ‘1-1-LT1.save’, a folder called ‘sync' and a file called ‘persistent’
• copy the contents from the ‘Testproject-1725180379’ folder (within the ‘RenPy’ folder) into the ‘the_missing_part_jpkvns’ folder (also within the ‘RenPy’ folder)
• launch the game and enjoy your imported saves.
