Chapter 4 - Progress update #2

This is the first regular weekly progress report for Chapter 4. The renders for the last animation are almost complete and, with a few exceptions, look very good so far. I have already noted a few things that I would like to change for further animations with simulated hair movements starting in Chapter 5. In particular, the initial head position is very important here. Example: At the beginning of the animation the hair is resting on the shoulder, then while the animation runs the head moves slightly and the hair slips off the shoulder. This is bad because the animations are loops and somehow the hair has to fall back onto the shoulder. I wasn't aware of such subtleties beforehand and the scenes weren't set up with that in mind. Like everything else, it's a learning process and I can plan for it better for the next animations. There are no extreme cases with excessive head movement in the animations for Chapter 4, meaning that if you don't pay attention, you won't even notice it. As always, it was important to me to take a step forward and improve the animations from the previous chapter. I'm happy to say that I achieved my goal.

Not much has changed in terms of static rendering compared to Chapter 3. The first 400 static renders have been completed. I still have my minimum goal of 35 renders per day. The only difference I have made for Chapter 4 is that if I still have some time left after reaching 35 renders, I will not continue with static renders, but will edit the completed labels and select, edit, and implement the respective music and sound effects for them. If this works as intended, the chapter will be ready for proofreading as soon as I am done with the static renders.

That's it for this time. Until next week.
